Activities to Avert the Calamities of the Iron Dog Year 2030
Dear Dharma practitioners and friends,
In accordance with the guidance of the lineage masters, Awam centres and Dharma communities around the world are actively engaging in practices to help avert the potential calamities of the Iron Dog Year 2030.
We are pleased to share this short 3-minute video highlighting inspiring recent activities across Europe from Awam Lhasa Ling in Poland, Jonang Tashi Choling in Slovakia and the Hungarian Karma Kagyu community in Taron.
We deeply rejoice in the unity, dedication and virtuous efforts of all practitioners. May these collective actions bring benefit to all sentient beings and help avert obstacles in the times ahead.
Recommended Actions for Practitioners:
1. Encourage regular practice (daily if possible): Guru Rinpoche, Vajrakilaya, or Vajrasattva (if the former are not possible).
2. Organise weekly group practices (ideally on Sundays), in person or online, to build collective merit.
3. Raise prayer flags in suitable outdoor locations.
4. Establish stupas with blessed substances in Dharma centres or peaceful natural environments (with proper permissions).
5. Cultivate kindness and compassion in daily life and interactions.
6. Respect and care for the environment—conduct blessing ceremonies, make offerings, and engage in positive environmental actions.
